MG ZS EV To Get A Huge Panoramic Sunroof, Covers 90% Roof

MG ZS, the upcoming electric SUV from the British carmaker in India, is ready to go on sale in January 2020. Prior to its launch, the carmaker will unveil the vehicle on 5th December, 2019. Its official bookings will also be commenced in the last month of this year.

The all-new electric SUV from MG will offer a huge panoramic sunroof covering a total of 1.2m2 area with 0.42m2 openable area. That means, 90% area of the vehicle’s roof is covered by the sunroof. It offers a 0.42㎡ viewable area and an openable area of 1.19㎡.

Globally, no other car with similar dimensions and footprint of the MG ZS electric SUV offers panoramic sunroof. It will give an airy feel along with a comfortable driving experience. The India-spec MG ZS is likely to be equipped with a 150bhp electric motor deriving power from a 44.5kWh lithium-ion battery. Read – Is MG’s Compact SUV Coming To India?

The electric SUV will offer a range of 335km on the older NEDC test cycle and 262km on the newer WLTP testing cycle. It takes around 7 hours to get fully charged via 7kW AC charger and 40 minutes (for up to 80%) with a 50kW DC fast charger.

Price of the MG ZS EV is estimated to be around Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, it will take head-to-head against the Hyundai Kona that costs Rs 25.3 lakh. Initially, the MG ZS EV will be made available in select 5 cities, namely, Delhi-NCR, Ahmadabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
