Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up to launch the Ciaz compact sedan in the Indian car market in October. Official bookings of the sedan will commence from September 3rd; however, few dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the car at a token amount of Rs. 21,000. The new model is available in four trim levels in petrol and diesel guise- VXi/VDi, VXi+/VDi+, ZXi/ZDi and ZXi+/ZDi+. [Also Read- Maruti Suzuki Ciaz diesel mileage is 26.3kmpl]
The Ciaz sedan shares its design from the ‘Suzuki Authentics Concept’, which was showcased at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show. It will replace the aging SX4 sedan. The vehicle looks more modern and elegant than the SX4; however, it lacks the masculine and bold feel.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz front fascia gets chrome trimmed grille while the bumper has wide air dam and new fog lamps assembly. The carved out bonnet features prominent lines that visually move upwards to meet A-pillar.
The rear profile resembles the City sedan. The aggressive bumper features sharp LED taillamps and chrome bar.
The side profile of the Ciaz sedan looks simple, but there are aggressive creases running across the length. The window line starts at the headlamps and flows to meet the top of the taillamps, while the one prominent line positioned right above the wheelarches and finally ends at the back.
The large sweptback headlamp gets LED daytime running lamps with projectors.
The Ciaz gets dual tone interior scheme. The first half of dashboard gets black colour while the lower half features beige shade. Its steering wheel gets audio and telephony controls mounted on it.
The vehicle is equipped with rear AC vents and offers good legroom space for rear occupants.
The Suzuki Ciaz gets Smartplay infotainment system with USB/AUX, Bluetooth, music system and others.
It is equipped with beige colour upholstery on seats.
