The much-awaited Hyundai Venue compact SUV has finally been launched in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 6.50  lakh, the new model is the brand’s first sub-4 meter SUV. Positioned below Creta, the new model is the brand’s smallest global SUV and will be launched in the North American market later this year. It is claimed to be the most advanced and feature-loaded SUV in the sub-4 meter SUV category.

The Hyundai Venue is available in 4 trim levels – E, S, SX and SX (O) – and in total of 11 variants and eight engine and transmission options. The petrol version is priced between Rs 6.50 lakh and Rs 11.10 lakh, while the diesel model is tagged at Rs 7.75 lakh for base model and Rs 10.84 for the high-end variant. Engine Options

The sub-4 meter Hyundai Venue is offered in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel. The naturally aspirated petrol is capable of producing 83bhp and 115Nm, while the turbocharged unit is good for 118bhp and 172Nm. On the other hand, the oil burner produces 89bhp and 220Nm. Mileage

The diesel version is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 23.7kmpl. While the naturally aspirated petrol delivers 17.5kmpl, the 1.0L turbo dual-clutch transmission is claimed to deliver 18.15kmpl.

Internet Car

It is claimed to be India’s first sub-4 meter SUV with Internet option. The Korean automaker has joined hands with Vodafone-Idea to fix eSIM on the Venue compact SUV. This eSIM will give the live location of the vehicle, geo-fencing, etc. This service is free to use until the warranty period of the vehicle.

Hyundai Blue Link – 33 Features

The Hyundai Venue is equipped with the brand’s most advanced “Blue Link” connectivity solution. This technology offers 33 new features out of which 10 are India specific. Some of the features include auto crash notification, emergency assistance, RSA, Stolen vehicle notification, immobilisation, monthly health report, maintenance alert, live traffic, car tracking, etc. It also gets an Artificial Intelligence enabled voice recognition system.

Dual Clutch Transmission

The Hyundai Venue transmission options include a 5-speed manual (1.2L petrol), a 6-speed manual (1.0L Petrol & 1.4L Diesel) and a 7-speed Dual-clutch transmission (1.0L petrol only). It is also the first SUV in its category to offer the dual-clutch transmission option.

Interior

The sub-4 meter SUV comes with all-black interior to give a sporty edge. It gets all-black dashboard with silver treatment around the air-con vents, floating type 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, round-shaped climate control display, semi-digital instrument console, rear air-con vents, etc.

Exterior

Design inspiration for the new Venue comes from the bigger Hyundai SUVs like Kona and Santa Fe. It features the signature hexagonal cascade grille, two-tier headlight set-up with slim DRLs on top and main headlamp lower on the bumper, aggressive bumper, 16-inch diamond cut alloys, roof integrated spoiler, roof rails, wrap-around tail-lamps, etc.
