Despite being one of the largest automobile players globally, General Motors hasn’t been able to create a huge impact in the Indian market. An old product lineup and expensive after-sales service are the two major reasons behind the company’s not-so-impressive performance in the world’s sixth largest automobile market. Besides taking several measures to improve its after-sales experience, the American carmaker is also planning to bring in several new products in different segments to attract buyers. Here’s a list of all the upcoming Chevrolet Cars in India that we’ll see in the next two years.
1. New Chevrolet Beat
The new Chevrolet Beat is unquestionably one of the most awaited upcoming Chevrolet Cars in India. the company’s top-selling hatchback is ready to enter the next generation sometime next year. The vehicle’s picture was released earlier this year, thus giving us a much clearer idea about the changes it will receive. Unlike the global model, the India-bound 2017 Beat will be based on the existing platform and it will continue to feature the same 1.0-litre diesel engine that also powers the existing model. Though it will get a new 1.0-litre petrol engine which could be the downsized version of the 1.4-litre EcoTech mill. The company might also retain the existing 1.2-litre SMARTECH petrol mill.
Though there may not be any major mechancial upgrades, the 2017 Chevrolet Beat will get some cosmetic changes. The new-gen model will get a new two-part grille with chrome surrounds on its lower part. The vehicle also gets new headlamp design. The vehicle’s side profile, however, will remain largely identical to the existing one.

2. Chevrolet Beat Activ
Along with the new-gen model of the Beat, the company will also launch the crossover version of the hatchback. Called the Chevrolet Beat Activ, the vehicle was first showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. This too will be launched sometime in 2017. The crossover borrows its styling elements and features from the new Beat hatchback. Though the company hasn’t revealed the vehicle’s specifications yet, we expect it to feature the same 1.2-litre SMARTECH petrol and 1.0-litre SMARTECH diesel engines that do duty in the current-gen Beat. Some of the key design elements are sloping roofline, new dual-port front grille, revised tailgate with integrated spoiler, roof rails, etc that give it a crossover-ish appeal.

3. Chevrolet Essentia
Along with the Activ, the company had also showcased the Chevrolet Essentia sedan at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. This sub-4 metre sedan will be based on the same platform as the Beat and the Activ, and might feature the same engine options as the other two. Expected to become an affordable sub-4 sedan, this one is among the most important upcoming Chevrolet Cars in India. It will take on the the Tata Kite 5, which will also be launched early next year.
The Chevrolet Essentia’s styling looks inspired from the all-new Beat. It gets two-part grille, headlamps with LED daytime running lights, sporty bumper, rising beltline and sloping rake. Till the C-Pillar, the sub-compact sedan looks identical to the Beat hatchback; the only difference is the extended boot offered to the Essentia. The vehicle’s cabin too will be similar to its hatchback sibling.

4. Chevrolet Trailblazer 2017
In its first innings, the Chevrolet Trailblzer couldn’t live up to the company’s expectations. In an attempt to increase its sales, the company is now planning to introduce the facelifted version of the SUV in 2017. The 2017 Trailblazer has already made its debut at the Bangkok International Motor Show earlier this year. With all-new headlamps, new spilt-chrome grille, refreshed bumper and revised fog lamps, the vehicle’s front fascia looks sportier than the current model. Though the vehicle’s rear profile is largely similar to the existing one. The only change at the rear is a revised spoiler lip. The vehicle is expected to get several new colours upon its arrival.
5. Chevrolet Cruze 2017
The Cruze is unquestionably one of the most exciting premium sedans in the country, and it will receive a major makeover in 2017. Already on sale in several global markets, the vehicle has received significant design and mechanical updates. With all new grille, all-new headlamps with LED day-time running lamps, slopping roofline, redesigned C-pillar, revised bumpers and several other changes, the Chevrolet Cruze 2017 looks sleeker and sportier than the current model. Unlike the current model that is available only in diesel avatar, the new Cruze will also get a 1.4-litre EcoTech petrol mill. This engine is capable of churning out 153bhp and 240Nm. The diesel engine, however, could be the same 164bhp, 2.0-litre VCDi mill that does duty in the current model. Transmission options on offer could be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. With exciting new design, all-new features, the Cruze 2017 is surely among the most awaited upcoming Chevrolet Cars in India.
