2014 Fiat Punto Evo facelift

Italian automaker Fiat is set to launch the updated Punto in the Indian car market. The vehicle has already reached the dealerships and is likely to be launched in August. The company has thoroughly modified the Punto to counter the growing competition in the premium hatchback segment. This time Fiat has added Evo name to Punto, just like the International model, and is now get a series of changes to both interiors and exteriors.

Exteriors

The Fiat Punto Evo gets an all-new front fascia with new grille which is larger in size and gets rounded-off edges. The vehicle gets single bar of chrome and chromed outline that runs across the front, flanked by the new sweptback headlamps. Its newly designed fog lamps get large chromed surrounds. The side profile of the hatchback looks identical to the current model; however, the vehicle gets newly designed multi-spoke alloys and chrome inserts on door handles. At the back, the hatchback is equipped with revised tail lamps and bumper with chrome and new stop lamps.

Interiors

The Fiat Punto Evo facelift gets updated interiors with added features. This model has restyled dashboard and looks quite identical to the luxurious Linea saloon. The lower spec models feature dual-tone (Black-Beige) interior theme, while the 90bhp sport variant gets all-black scheme. Its steering and controls mounted remains unchanged, while the dials gets bigger in size. The company has added silver accents to AC vents, instrument panel and centre console. It is also equipped with rear AC vents, while the rear legroom and boot space remains unchanged.

 Engines

The Fiat Punto Evo facelift will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. The diesel version gets the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet engine that develops two states of tune- 75bhp and 89bhp. The petrol model will be powered by the 1.2-litre engine that 67bhp. A more powerful 1.4-litre T-Jet turbo-petrol mill will also on offer that produces 90bhp.

Expected Price: Rs. 5-7.5 lakh
