Toyota Innova Crysta and Honda BRV stand head to head in the SUV/MUV battle. The former is an upgrade of the much loved Toyota Innova whereas Honda BRV is an all-new vehicle from the stable of the Japanese car maker. The latter is typically a SUV but it carries a look of a MPV and is a 7 seater vehicle. It is because of this particular seating capacity that these two cars pitch against each other despite being in a completely different price segment.
Toyota Innova Crysta starts from Rs. 13.73 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 20.78 lakhs whereas the Honda BRV starts at Rs. 8.8 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 13lakhs. The only time when these two vehicles will lock horns directly is when the consumer is looking for a 7 seater vehicle.

Toyota Innova Crysta Vs Honda BRV – Engine & Transmission
In terms of engine Innova Crysta has a bigger capacity engine of 2.4litres and an optional 2.8litres power mill as well. Both these engines come with an Eco & power drive modes. While the 2.4litre engine delivers a maximum power of 148bhp at 3400rpm, the 2.8litres engine delivers 171bhp at similar revs. Honda BRV on the other hand is offered with a 1.5litres diesel and 1.5litres petrol engine options. The petrol engine offers 117bhp at 6600rpm whereas the diesel engine delivers 98bhp at 3600rpm. In terms of the transmission, Crysta is offered with a 5 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmission with sequential shift whereas Honda BRV is offered with a 6 speed manual transmission and a CVT gearbox as well.
The mileage offered by Crysta is 15kmpl whereas BRV offers 15.4kmpl with its manual petrol variant whereas the automatic petrol variant can deliver up to 16kmpl. The diesel Honda BRV can deliver a mileage of 21.9kmpl.

Toyota Innova Crysta Vs Honda BRV – Design & Dimensions
Innova Crysta is quite big in size especially when compared to the BRV. Crysta has a length of 4735mm whereas BRV has a length of 4456mm. In terms of width, Crysta is 1830mm whereas BRV is 1735mm wide. Even in terms of the wheelbase, Innova Crysta is larger with a figure of 2750mmwhile the wheelbase of BRV is 2662mm.
Innova Crysta comes with massive design changes as compared to the outgoing Innova variant. There is a hexagonal front grille that features horizontal chrome bars, headlamps and LED daytime running lights. The rear end gets rear spoiler along with taillights that are shaped as an inverted L. Apart from these additions, even in terms of design, there are a lot of changes that one can see. The car has gotten a sharper design and the corners are flowy and smooth anymore. There are crisp edges which might appeal to someone whereas for other, it can be a hit and miss.
Honda BRV however, looks quite similar to the existing Mobilio. It has roof railings, sharp headlamps and the Honda patent grille which can be seen on its recent cars like Brio and Honda City etc. Honda BRV gets smart curves around the sides and the tail lamps are wide and stretched across the tailgate.
