Renault, the French automaker, has introduced its first entry-level car – the Renault Kwid in the Indian car market on September 24, 2015. The Renault Kwid that comes with several segment-first features, is claimed to return the class-leading fuel efficiency of 25.17kmpl. It doesn’t look like a typical small hatchback, instead it can be called a micro SUVish hatch. The small car takes on the likes of the Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon, Datsun Go and the Maruti Celerio. The overall styling and price of the car directly put it against another Maruti’s top-selling tall-boy hatchback – the Wagon R.

This engine is claimed to return a class-leading mileage of 25.17kmpl, thus making it the most fuel-efficient petrol car in the country.

On the other hand, the Maruti Wagon R is propelled by the K10B series engine. Renault Kwid Vs Maruti Wagon R- Design & Styling

The Renault Kwid is undoubtedly looks better than most of its competitors including the WagonR hatchback. On sides, the small car gets plastic cladding, rectangular shaped black wheel arches and manually operated ORVMs. At the rear end, the car looks like a crossover. Hi Mahesh,

We haven’t heard of any such complaints till now. Yes the car weigh less, but that’s primarily because of several weight saving technologies used by the company. The car is meant to be driven around city, as the engine is just 800cc. It’s surely not a highway cruiser just like all of its rivals including Maruti Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon.

Since all the 800cc cars are meant to be driven around city, they should be driven on long routes. Though, they can manage occasional visits.
