In order to tap the highly competitive mid-sized sedan segment, Maruti Suzuki introduced the Ciaz sedan in the country. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the Ciaz is loaded with several high end features. It will come as a replacement for the aging SX4 sedan. Here we bring you a specification comparison between the two.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz looks modern and appealing than the SX4 saloon. While the SX4 is known for its high performance and masculine look, the Suzuki Ciaz, on the other hand, looks sleeker and elegant. The new sedan features trapezoidal grille with chrome inserts at the front which is complemented by larger angular shaped projector headlamps. The more carved out bumper has wide air dams and a pair of fog lamps. The side profile looks simple than the contemporaries, but it also gets aerodynamic crease that runs across the length. The rear profile looks closer to the City sedan with taillights and air scoops integrated into the bumper.
The SX4 looks massive with its large wheel arches fitted to 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels. The macho looks accentuated by upright windscreen, big mirrors and upright seating position. The front wheel arches is big compared to Ciaz while the headlights are wrap around onto the front fenders. The front features a big muscular bumper featuring grille complemented by elongated wrap-around clear lens headlamps. This sedan looks quite different to its contemporaries and its massive look and upright seating position offers a crossover feel.
Inside the cabin, the Ciaz undoubtedly is the winner. The vehicle gets several advanced features including SmartPlay infotainment with 7-inch touchscreen display. On the other hand, the SX4 features plain interiors with decent equipment. When it comes to space, the Ciaz is more spacious than the SX4, thanks to its large wheelbase of 2650mm which is around 150mm more than the SX4.
