The Italian car manufacturer, Fiat is aiming to improve its market share in the Indian car market. The company opt the sub-compact SUV segment to revive its lost share in the country. Fiat India will launch the Punto based Avventura crossover by the festive season, and it will directly compete against the likes of Ford EcoSport, Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo. We already compared the Avventura with the two other crossover hatchbacks. In this article we try to identify how this Crossover hatch will justify its presence against the hot favorite Ford EcoSport.

Ford EcoSport is based on the Kinetic Design Philosophy, which offers common family look. The exterior of the SUV is blessed with hexagonal grille which is complemented by sleek contemporary headlamps, flared wheel arches, alloy wheels and fog lamps. The rear end is dominated by the spare wheel and tail-lamps on the either side of wheel. Inside the cabin, this compact SUV looks identical to the Fiesta sedan. The switches, instrument panel design is similar to that of the sedan sibling. The vehicle gets nine bottle/cup-holders, charging sockets, and a large cooled glovebox.

The Avventura Crossover is based on the Punto hatchback. This model gets body cladding all around which offers a rugged appeal to it. The high ground clearance and sporty alloys further enhances the overall sporty character of this crossover. Likes its exterior design, the Avventura shares its interior styling and equipments with its hatchback sibling; however, the company adds some additional features to justify its segment and pricing. This crossover hatchback features bright orange accents around the dashboard and otange stitiching that complements the dark grey and white fabric upholstery. The top spec model features climate control, cruise control and 2-DIN music system.
Ford EcoSport is priced at Rs. 6.15 lakh for the entry level model and it goes all the way to Rs. 9.49 lakh for the top end model. On the other hand, the Fiat Punto Avventura is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh for the top spec diesel model.
