Seeing the growing demand for budget friendly utility vehicles, the two Japanese car manufacturers, Honda & Nissan, are all set to launch the much-awaited Mobilio & Datsun Go+ MPV in the country, respectively. Both the cars are expected to hit the shores by the mid-2014. Datsun Go+ MPV is surely the most awaited MPV, which will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Honda Mobilio.

The Datsun Go+ MPV shares its interior design and features with its hatchback sibling. However, it is expected to get some additional safety and comfort features to justify the price tag and the segment in which it will be launched. The top-spec and mid-level variants are likely to get airbags and anti-lock braking system, engine immobilizer and others as standard safety features. Maruti Ertiga styling looks like the common Suzuki cars that runs in the country. The grille and bonnet resembles the Ritz hatchback which is complemented by the swept-back headlamps. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets supportive seats and its large windows offer a roomy feel. The vehicle also shares most of its styling and features with Swift hatchback. All the components including steering, audio system and AC are directly sourced from the Swift hatchback.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga MPV is priced at Rs. 5.80 lakh for the entry spec model while the top spec variant costs Rs. 8.49 lakh. Datsun Go+ MPV is likely to be priced around Rs. 4.80 lakh for base model and Rs. 7 lakh for top-spec variant.
