Tata Motors is trying hard to regain its lost market share in the country. The company has introduced the Tiago hatch in 2016, which received an overwhelming response from buyers. Featuring modern design and well-equipped, modish interior, the new breed of Tata cars manages to appeal young buyers. Buoyed by an excellent response for Tiago, the homegrown automaker has introduced the Tigor styleback in the country. The new model design inspiration comes from Tata’s new IMPACT design philosophy. As Tata looks at introducing more new models in future, we bring you a list of upcoming Tata cars in India slated for launch in next three years.
Following Tiago’s strategy, Tata Motors is now planning to launch the AMT equipped Tigor sub-compact sedan in the country. As a reminder, Tigor is the third product from Tata in the sub-compact sedan segment. The small car is positioned below Zest, which turns into competitive pricing. Besides, Tigor is primarily a boot version of Tiago and will share mechanicals and design cues with the hatchback.
The Tigor AMT will be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 83.8bhp and a peak torque of 109Nm. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox.
