The credit for this goes to multiple new launches that took place this year, besides positive market sentiment. This will be Skoda’s first-ever fully-fledged SUV that offers seat for 7 adults. Built on Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform that also underpins VW Tiguan SUV, the Kodiaq SUV will come in two engine options – a 2.0-litre TSI petrol and a 2.0-litre TDI diesel. It will rival against the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Isuzu MUX. The SUV will be brought into India as CKD and then assembled at the company’s Aurangabad facility. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs 28 lakh to Rs 35 lakh.
