We reported earlier that Bajaj Auto is aiming to launch three new bikes under its immensely popular Pulsar brand. The homegrown automaker is reading the Pulsar 160 NS or 150 NS, Pulsar 200 SS and Pulsar 400 SS. While the Pulsar 200 SS will go on sale in the market in the first half of this year, the other two models are likely to go on sale by mid of 2015. It was speculated that the next Pulsar 150 will be branded as the 160 NS, but new report suggest that the company will go with the regular 150 nameplate.
It was reported that the Pulsar 150 will get the new 160cc engine, but the new images suggest that the vehicle would continue to feature the same 150cc motor. However, the engine might be tuned to offer improved power and torque figure. Interestingly, the pictures leaked on interweb reveals that the vehicle misses the “NS” moniker and model name sticker to identify the bike. It is expected that the company might have showcased the bike, and the name will be revealed afterwards.
The advertising hoardings show that the bike features tri-spark plug and 4-valve engine. It is expected that the new model would offer improved power figures and fuel efficiency. The engine will be clubbed to a five-speed gearbox. Talking about styling, the bike shares its design with the 200 NS. The other changes include fixed single-piece rear mud guard, kick start level, skinny tyre, etc. Compared to the 200NS, the bike misses out on features like rear disc brake and box-section type swing arm.
