UM Renegade Receives Over 1,000 Bookings, Deliveries to Begin in June

UM Renegade Commando and Renegade Sport S were showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February.

UM Renegade Commando and UM Renegade Sport S cruisers have received over 1,000 bookings within 2 months of their launch. The pre-bookings for the cruisers began from the launch day (i.e. 3rd February), deliveries will be commenced from June 2016. Just so you know, UM Motorcycles has commenced its Indian operations under a strategic association with Lohia Auto, and named it UML. The company showcased of its Renegade Series – Renegade Commando, Renegade Sport S and Renegade Classic – at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.

The Renegade motorcycles are being produced at Lohia Auto’s Kashipur plant in Uttarakhand. The American motorcycle manufacturer, initially, aims to achieve a sales target of 3,000 units per month. It also plans to setup 25 dealerships across the country. The company will launch three motorcycles in India every year, confirms Mr. Juan Villegas, Global Director for Business Development, UM International LLC.

All three UM Renegade motorcycles derive power from a 279cc, single-cylinder water-cooled engine that is claimed to offer 25bhp of power and 21.8Nm of torque. Transmission duties are served by a 6-speed gearbox. Both the Renegade Commando and Sport S are equipped with front disc and rear drum brakes. For shock absorption, there is hydraulic telescopic upfront and twin hydraulic with spring rear suspension system. The twin bikes offer a seat height of 750mm, and a fuel tank capacity of 18-litres.
