Buoyed by positive response for Renegade Series, UM Motorcycle is now planning to add more products to its lineup. The American two-wheeler maker is currently busy in expanding its dealership network. At the Auto Expo 2016, Rajeev Mishra, MD UM Motorcycles India had confirmed that the company will launch two new bikes in India in 2017, 2018. If media reports are to be believed, the company is planning to launch the Hypersport 230 Adventure Sportsbike in the country. This bike is already on sale in select international markets. Though the official launch date of the bike is yet to be revealed, we expect the Hypersport Adventure Sport will be launched in the Indian two-wheeler market during 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.

Internationally, the Hypersport is available in three engine lineup. However, the India-spec model could get a 223cc, single-cylinder four-stroke, air-cooled engine. This engine is capable of producing a peak power of 16bhp at 7,500rpm along with a maximum torque of 17.69Nm at 5,500rpm. It is paired to a 5-speed gearbox and power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a chain drive system.
Equipped with 223cc, single-cylinder engine, the Hypersport is expected to return close to 35-40kmpl of mileage.
Despite being Adventure Sport, the Hypersport features a typical dual-purpose bike styling. The bike can be used for both off-road and in city riding. The bike features raised mudguard, large fuel tank extensions and LED headlamp. Other features include digital fuel gauge, speedometer and tachometer, and grab rails, under-seat exhaust, etc. The bike measures 2075mm in length, 780mm in width and 1255mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 1325mm. This Adventure Sport comes with 820mm of seat height.
The Adventure Sport features a long travel telescopic front forks and a monoshock suspension setup at the back. The braking mechanism of the bike comprises of 265mm ventilated disc upfront and 220mm disc at the rear; it misses out on ABS system. The Adventure Sport rides on 17-inch aluminium alloy wheels.
