2017 Bajaj Pulsar NS160 naked streetfighter is priced at Rs 82,400 ex-showroom, Pune.

Bajaj Pulsar NS160 has finally been launched in India at Rs 82,400 (ex-showroom, Pune). The price will remain same post GST (Goods and Services Tax) that will be enforced from 1st July 2017. While the bike hits the showrooms, the bookings and deliveries are likely to be commenced from tomorrow. In Bajaj’s Indian product lineup, the Pulsar NS160 will bridge the gap between the Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 180. With such aggressive pricing, the all-new Bajaj Pulsar 160NS will go up against the Yamaha FZ FI V2.0, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda CB Hornet 160R. This motorcycle is already on sale on in Turkey and Nepal.

Designed on the modified perimeter frame, the new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 shares a strong resemblance with its elder sibling – the Pulsar NS200. The bike gets Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) function, clip-on handlebars, LED taillights and under belly exhaust system. Carrying a kerb weight of 135kgs, the motorcycle weighs 5kgs lighter than the Pulsar NS150 model. Unlike the bike’s global model that has a single-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) in the front, the India-spec version misses out on it. Power source for the bike is a 15.2bhp, 160.3cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled triple spark engine linked to a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of pricing, the new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is slotted between the Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 180. In India, the bike is made available at Rs 82,400 (ex-showroom Pune). The new Pulsar 160NS derives its power from an all-new 160.3cc, single-cylinder, oil cooled 4-stroke engine benefited with Bajaj’s triple spark technology. This BS4 compliant motor is capable of making a top power of 15.2bhp at 8,500rpm, while generating a peak torque of 14.6Nm at 6,500rpm. Transmitting power to the rear wheels is a 5-speed gearbox. Packed with an all-new 160cc engine, the new Pulsar NS160 will be more fuel economical than its younger sibling – the Pulsar NS150. Since Bajaj hasn’t confirmed the engine details of the bike, the mileage figures are not available. We expect it to return a mileage around 50-55kmpl on highways. The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 comes in a choice of three dual tone shades – Passion Red + Satin Black, Sapphire Blue + Satin Black and Pearl Metallic White + Satin Black.

The new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 sits on a slightly modified steel perimeter frame, and shares most of its design elements with the Pulsar NS200. Up front, the bike features the mandatory Automatic Headlamp On (AHO) function. With minimal head fairing, the new NS160 looks quite aggressive. It comes fitted with halogen headlamp, new fuel filler cap, digital instrument panel with analog tachometer, silver finish centre stay and rear foot rest, air deflecting cowl, clear lens indicators, splint seats and grab handle. Towards the rear, the bike gets underbelly exhaust and split LED tail lamp. What further enhance its naked appeal are the skinny side panels, muscular fuel tank and bold stance. The new Bajaj Pulsar is 5kgs lighter than the 150cc iteration. It has a kerb weight of 135kgs. Similar to the current Pulsar, the new Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 runs on 17-inch wheels shod with100/80 front and 110/70 rear MRF Zapper tyres.

Braking system of the bike consists of 240mm disc at the front and 130mm drum at the rear. Suspension duties are performed by the conventional 130mm telescopic fork upfront and 120mm monoshock with coil-over spring rear units.
