Hero MotoCorp has introduced the new Hero Super Splendor iSmart (i3S) in the country. Priced at Rs 55,275 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the 2017 Super Splendor i3S comes with self-start drum brake and alloy wheels. The updated model receives the brand’s new stop-start technology, thus making it more economical.
Power source for the bike remains the same 124.7cc, air-cooled engine, but now it is BSIV compliant. It also gets halogen HSI headlamp and multi-reflector type tail lamp. In India, the 2017 Hero Super Splendor iSmart will compete against the Honda CB Shine SP, Bajaj Discover and others in the segment.
The 2017 model year of the Super Splendor iSmart is now on sale at Rs. 55,275 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Powering the new Super Splendor i3S is the same 124.7cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with stop-start system and AMI (advanced microprocessor ignition system). Now, this motor comply the BSIV emission norms. The power and torque figures stand at 9bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.35Nm at 4,000rpm respectively. For transmitting power to the wheels, there is a 4-speed constant mesh gearbox.
In the terms of fuel efficiency, the new Super Splendor iSmart 125cc is as economical as its predecessor. The bike’s new model returns a mileage around 83kmpl (ARAI-rated figure).
Design of the new Hero Super Splendor iSmart 125cc looks largely similar to the existing Splendor iSmart. Some of the styling elements have been carried over from the regular model including instrument cluster, i3S (idle start and stop system) system and body graphics. The bike also gets split grab rails, side panels and revised tail-piece. There is a signature Hero badge on the handlebar and a new three-pod instrument cluster with i3 badge.
Designed on the tubular double cradle type chassis, the Super Splendor runs on 42P/ 4PR and 48P/ 6PR front and rear tyres respectively. Suspension duties are performed by telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers upfront and swing arm hydraulic shock absorbers rear unit.

The overall length, width and height of the new Splendor 125cc measure 1,995mm, 735mm and 1,095mm respectively. It has a wheelbase of 1,265mm, and a ground clearance of 150mm.The bike weighs 121kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 13-litres.
