Bajaj Pulsar AS150 launched

Bajaj Auto seems aggressive with its product strategy for the highly competitive Indian two-wheeler market. The company has revised the ageing Pulsar range with new additions and facelifts. With the Pulsar RS200, AS200, 150NS and 150AS, the home-grown automaker aims to increase its market share. Adding to it, the powerful CS400 and RS400 sportsbikes are also on cards. The Pulsar AS150 has been priced at Rs. 71,000.

Talking about the Pulsar AS150, the affordable Adventure Sport bike looks slightly different from the larger 200 AS. Based on the 150 NS, the bike will compete against the likes of Yamaha Fazer, Suzuki Gixxer SF, and others in the league. With the growing popularity of 150cc segment, we believe that the 150AS could be a big hit in the country.

Upcoming Bajaj Pulsar Motorcycles: 150NS | 180NS | RS400 | CS400

Design

Unlike the larger 200AS, the 150cc Adventure Sport features slimmer tyres, drum type rear brakes, and it misses out on a radiator ahead of an engine bay. It comes with a neatly styled quarter fairing that extends smartly back into a clear visor for improved wind protection. Upfront is new projector lamp-powered headlamps, slim-spoke Pulsar typical-wheels, and alloy wheels with disc brakes. Also on offer are pillion and rider footrests, backlit switches and split seat. All the essential features like digital instrument cluster, fuel tank, etc are shared with the 150NS. The bike rides on the 17-inch alloys.

Engine & Transmission
The Pulsar 150AS is powered by a 149.5cc single-cylinder petrol engine with Bajaj’s triple spark ignition technology. This engine is capable of producing 17PS of power at 9000rpm and 13Nm of torque at 7500rpm. It is coupled to a five-speed gearbox, with shifting in the one-down, four-up pattern.

Suspension System – Telescopic forks upfront and monoshock setup at the rear.

Braking – Front disc brakes and rear drum brakes

Fuel Tank Capacity – 12 litres

Mileage – 55-60kmpl

Price – Rs. 79,000

Colors – Blue, Black, Red and White

Competition – The 150AS will lock horns with Yamaha Fazer and Suzuki Gixxer SF

I took my bike 6 months back …as150 i was getting around 40kmpl on heavy traffic city ride and almost 65kmpl for long trip in highways at a speed of 70-80kmph . I use to control my speed and ride without stressing the engine till first service i always ride at 40kmph speed and mostly didnt use 5th gear till first service.. after first service i slowly started increasing my speed … to get best best mileage give acceleration to a point where u can feel there enough power at this speed and engine is not making sound stressing … its a thin line between speed and power once u understand that u unlock the secret of mileage.. and also avoid sudden acceleration slowly rise the acceleration according to power engine is giving dont force it… _ride safe_
