December 27, 2016 – Suzuki Motorcycles previewed the Gixxer and Gixxer SF facelifts at the Indonesia Motorcycle Show in November, 2016. Called Suzuki GSX-R150 and Suzuki GSX-S150, both the bikes receive minor cosmetic upgrades along with a more powerful engine and a new gearbox. The 2017 Suzuki Gixxer (GSX-R150) has now gone into production in Indonesia.
For 2017, the Suzuki Gixxer models get a bolder and more angular design. Suzuki’s new 150cc motorcycles stand tall, and have a three-element headlamp design and pronounced tank. While the GSX-R150 has full fairing with a revised fuel tank, the naked S150 features sharp tank extensions.

2017 Suzuki Gixxer (GSX-150R & GSX-S150) Design
The new Suzuki Gixxer shares some of its design elements with the bigger GSX-R models. The bike features sharper and aggressive headlamp with LED elements, new fairing and fuel tank. Both the motorcycles get clear lens turn indicators, rear seat footpegs, low clip on handlebars, new silencer and a fully digital instrument console. The Indonesian-spec model is a performance oriented version of the current Gixxer. Power for the new Suzuki GSX-R150 and GSX-S150 comes from a 147cc, liquid-cooled engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox. This motor churns out power worth 18.6bhp against a peak torque of 14Nm. With an aim to achieve high performance, Suzuki tweaked engine & other mechanics of the bike. In fact, the company claims that the both the motorcycles are lightest in their categories.
On the other hand, the India-spec Gixxer comes fitted with a 154.9cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine generating 14.5bhp and 14Nm of torque. For transmission duties, there is a 5-speed unit. 2017 Suzuki Gixxer (GSX-150R & GSX-S150) Suspension & Braking System
The new Gixxer comes fitted with conventional telescopic forks up front and monoshock rear suspension setup. Braking duties are carried out by dual disc brakes, combined with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
