Yamaha has launched the 2021 Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter in the Malaysian market at 67,500 Baht (approx INR 1.64 lakh). The scooter is available in two variants – Non-ABS and ABS. The ABS-equipped 2021 Yamaha Aerox 155 costs 78,500 Baht (approx INR 1.91 lakh).
The 2021 Yamaha Aerox 155 comes equipped with Yamaha Y-Connect as standard, which can be connected to rider’s smartphone using associated application. Using this application, rider can monitor functions such as maintenance intervals, malfunction notifications, mileage, battery level and parking location. The smartphone with Y-Connect can also act as a secondary instrument panel, displaying tachometer and other functions while simultaneously showing calls or message notification.
The 2021 Yamaha Aerox 155 comes equipped with LED lighting system, including twin LED headlights with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), and new LED tail-light. The scooter also gets new LCD digital meter with new graphic display. Suspension mechanism includes conventional telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The Scooter offers 25-litres storage compartment under the seat.
The Thai-spec model is available in 6 colour options. The standard variant is available in 3 colors – Power Black, Faster Turquoise and Alpha Red, while the ABS equipped variant comes in Silver Light, Dark Night and Racing Blue.
Powering the scooter is a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with Yamaha’s Blue Core tech. This is the same engine that powers the Yamaha R15 V3. While powering the Aerox, the 155cc engine produces 15.4bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm at 6,500rpm. The scooter weighs 125kg. It comes with a bigger 5.5-litre fuel tank. For braking, the scooter gets single disc in front and drum brake at the rear. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels wrapped in 110/80 and 140/70 section tyres at the front and rear respectively.
