We earlier reported that Volvo Auto India has introduced the new Volvo S60 R-Design and now the company has silently updated its XC60 SUV by wheeling it out with the R-Design body kit in order to enhance its visual appeal. The R-Design is available on D4 Summum variant and is priced at Rs. 51 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes equipped with slightly modified exterior and added features.
Both the R-design edition vehicles come exclusively with a Passion Red color. The silver wing mirrors also distinguish them from the regular variants. At the front fascia, there is an all new honeycomb grille. Both the R-design variants also flaunt 18-inch 5-spoke alloys. At the rear end, they boast diffuser-esque element at the bumper along with chrome finish at tailpipes. Inside the cabin, it has R-design badge at seats and steering wheel. Additionally, there are paddle shifters, satellite navigation and reverse camera to ensure maximum comfort, convenience and sophistication.
Mechanically, both the R-Design editions, the XC60 as well as the S60, come loaded with Drive-E engines. They in-house a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Drive-E engine which musters out 178.4bhp of top power and 400Nm of peak torque. The traditional engine in regular variants develop 160.7bhp, hence it is approx. 18bhp more powerful than the conventional variants. In addition, the 6-speed automatic transmission which used to feature in the regular variants has gone for a toss in favour of an all new 8-speed automatic transmission.
