Tata Safari Storme facelift spied again

Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Safari Storme facelift in the country. Set to rival the new Mahindra Scorpio, the facelifted Storme is likely to hit the showrooms soon. The vehicle gets subtle changes to both exteriors and interiors to keep things fresh in the market. The Storme facelift has been spotted testing again, revealing some more information.

The exteriors of the Safari Storme facelift gets slightly tweaked front fascia. It gets a new honeycomb grille and a restyled front bumper. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets a new infotainment system and a front facing, third row seats. However, the spotted vehicle lacks both front facing and side facing seats.

It is expected that the Safarit Storme SUV will get the more powerful version of the 2.2-litre VARICOR turbo diesel engine that also powers the Aria crossover. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 148bhp and a peak torque of 320Nm. Power is transmitted to rear wheels of the SUV via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.

The top-end model will continue to feature the shift-on-the-fly four wheel drive system from Borg Warner. It is also speculated that the new Storme could be cheaper than the previous model, which would make it more appealing. Current model is priced at Rs. 9.93 lakh for base variant and Rs. 13.70 lakh for top-end model. It will compete against the likes of Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Mahindra XUV500.
