Tata Motors has showcased a sportier version of the Bolt hatchback at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Named as the Tata Bolt Sport, the hatchback will be the first hot hatch from the homegrown automaker. It will be launched under the company’s new performance brand, which is scheduled to be launched by year end. Here are few images of the Tata Bolt Sport-
The Tata Bolt Sport will be powered by the 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol ‘Revotron’ engine that also powers the regular variant. However, the engine is tuned to offer higher power output. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 120bhp at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170 between 2,000 and 3,000rpm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. It features disc brakes for all wheels. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed 17-inch wheels.
Like the standard model, the sporty Bolt also offer multidrive option to buyers- Eco, City and Sports. The exterior changes include new grille, projector headlamps, a sporty body kit and new rear bumper.
Inside the cabin, the Tata Bolt Sport features black leather upholstery with contrasting red stitches and accents. It also gets sunroof, Harman touchscreen infotainment system with voice recognition and SMS readout options. There is a speed dependent volume control on offer, which is a good addition. The safety features include Anti-Lock braking system, corner stability control, dual airbags, etc.
