We reported earlier that Suzuki India has decided to discontinue its entry level sports bike- the Inazuma from the Indian lineup. Interestingly, the company is now focusing on the growing 150cc motorcycle segment. An all-new Suzuki Gixxer based fully faired motorcycle has been spotted testing for the first time in India. It will be positioned above the naked Gixxer and will rival against the likes of Yamaha Fazer F1 V2.0.
The spotted bike features a camouflaged fairing that sports a shield-shaped headlamp, which is Suzuki’s latest design philosophy. The fairing covers the entire mechanics, only the transmission case is visible. It shares most of its features such as fuel tank, silencer, wheels, tailpiece, tyres, braking system, etc from the Gixxer. It is expected that the fully faired bike will get a clip-on handlebar.
The new Suzuki Gixxer based bike is expected to be powered by the 154.9cc single-cylinder engine that also powers the Gixxer. The company might also add a liquid cooling system to this engine; however, nothing has been confirmed on the same. This motor is capable of producing 14.59bhp of power at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm, and is paired to a five-speed gearbox.
