Tata Bolt headlamps

Tata Motors has recently launched the Bolt hatchback in the Indian car market. According to Auto car India, Tata Motors will showcase a performance oriented version of the Bolt at the Geneva Motor Show next week. The sportier variant will be introduced under the new performance brand, which Tata is planning to launch by year end.

The performance variant will be powered by the same 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine. However, the power output will be increased from 89bhp to around 120bhp. The toque value is also likely to be raised, and to handle the extra reserves Tata Motors will use the Fiat’s C501 gearbox that also works in the diesel multi-jet powered models.

The show car will be equipped with new 17-inch wheels and features flared bodywork. The interiors are also likely to get modified and offer sporty character. The suspension mechanism will be tweaked with stiffer damping and lowered ride height. The hot hatchback is also likely to get a squat stance.

Tata Motors is aiming to improve its brand image, and is betting big on its new breed of cars. The company believes that the new performance brand could create some buzz and enthusiasts among car buyers.
