Suzuki Motor Corporation has revealed an all-new compact SUV- Vitara. The vehicle is scheduled to make its global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Interestingly, this crossover is based on the Suzuki iV-4 platform which was premiered at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
This SUV will first go on sale in the European markets next year. This is a global SUV from the Japanese marker and its design looks quite closer to the concept shown. We strongly believe that Suzuki might also bring this compact SUV to India. Maruti is planning to launch S-Cross SX4 crossover in the country in January 2015. And, it is also contemplating a compact SUV by early next year; however, the company hasn’t revealed any details about the product. It is speculated that the compact SUV would be the XA Alpha concept based SUV. Interestingly, the Vitara looks identical to the Vitara SUV and the company might cut some length of the Vitara, just like Ford EcoSport, to achieve aggressive pricing.
The Suzuki Vitara measures 4.21 meters in length, 1.85 meters in width and 1.66 meters in height, and it has a large wheelbase of 2.5 meters. The vehicle will get an optional ALLGRIP intelligent four-wheel drive system. It will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine, and the engine is likely to be the 1.6-litre petrol and diesel.
