Renault, the French automaker had revealed the Kadjar crossover online. Now, the crossover had made its public debut at the ongoing 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
Based on the CMF (Common Module Family) platform, the Kadjar crossover shares its styling from the Captur subcompact crossover and Clio supermini. The crossover will be offered with both front- and all-wheel drive systems. It comes with a 19cm ground clearance, which is more than sufficient to handle bumpy roads. The crossover features front and rear skid plates, and a stainless steel sill guard, which offers extra protection to tackle rugged roads.
The crossover is larger in size compared to the Qashqai crossover. It measures 4.45 meters in length, 1.84 meters in width and 1.6-litre meters in height. The crosssover offers a large boot space of 472-litres, which is around 42-litres more than the Nissan counterpart. Moreover, the crossover also offers 30-litres of extra space in cabin to store your belongings.
Inside the cabin, the crossover features the R-Link 2 infotainment system with TomTom navigation. On safety front, the car has lane departure warning, blind sport warning, easy park assist, active emergency braking, rear view camera, etc.
The crossover will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The oil burners include 108bhp 1.5-litre turbodiesel and beefier 128bhp 1.6-litre units, while the petrol unit is the 128bhp, 1.2-litre turbocharged unit. Both six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed automatic EDC transmission will be on offer. The crossover will go on sale in European market this year, followed by Africa and Mediterranean Basin countries and then in UK and China. We believe that the maker could also bring this crossover in Indian market.
