We have been constantly informing you about Renault India plans of launching the Duster facelift and 4×4 variant in the country. However, the company is in no mood of introducing the facelifted Duster, unveiled last year, but, Renault is gearing up to launch the 4×4 variant this festive season. It is expected that the Renault Duster 4×4 variant will go on sale in India in September 2014. The company is aiming to capitalize on the festive mood of Indian buyers.
The Duster compact SUV is Renault’s top selling car in the country. However, the growing competition as affected its sales. The 4×4 variant of the compact SUV will offer more option to Dusters prospective buyers. The Duster 4×4 will be the most expensive variant of the SUV in India. The company is likely to offer the 4×4 system with the top-of-the line 110PS Duster variant. If media reports are to be believed, the 4WD system will make the vehicle pricier by Rs. 1 lakh.
Mechanically, the Renault Duster 4×4 will be powered by the same 1.5-litre engine that is capable of developing a top power output of 110bhp and a peak torque of 240Nm. This engine will be paired to a six-speed manual transmission gearbox which sends the power to all-4 wheels of the SUV. This top-spec model is equipped with high-end safety and security features including ABS with EBD, brake assist, dual airbags and others.
