We reported earlier that Renault India will launch the Duster 4×4 variant in the country by early September. Before that, the company will showcase the Duster 4×4 to “Gang of Duster” members at Lavasa City off Pune on the Independence Day. This special preview could be the strategy to promote vehicle among off-roading enthusiasts in India. Moreover, the company is commencing the media drives of the all wheel drive variant from August 13. This also confirms the arrival of 4×4 variant of the compact SUV in India in September in India. The all-wheel drive variant would be the top-end variant in its model series. The 4×4 variant is already available in several international markets but in both petrol and diesel guise. In India, the vehicle would be offered with diesel engine only. It will be propelled by the same 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that is capable of producing 108.5bhp and 248Nm of top torque. This engine will be paired to a six-speed manual gearbox which sends the power to all the four wheels of the compact SUV. There will be 3 different modes – a two-wheel drive high, four-wheel drive low and four-wheel drive high.
The Renault Duster 4×4 variant is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 13-14 lakh. It will be offered with the RxZ trim, so the 4×4 variant will be equipped with all the features that are accessible in the 2WD RxZ variant. It is loaded with high end safety features such as ABS with EBD, brake assist, dual airbags and others.
