We all know that car makers are using common platform to develop multiple cars. Just like the Hulux pick-ups that gave birth to the Fortuner, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV is based on the Triton/L200 pick-up series. It is expected that the next generation Pajero would also be based based on the new generation Triton. The company recently introduced the new Triton/L200 in Thailand. AutonetMagz has released a rendered image of the next generation Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
The new generation Mitsubishi Triton four-door pickup gets an all-new 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine. Codenamed as 4N15, the four-cylinder unit is an all-alumimium engine block and features the company’s MIVEC electronic valve-timing control system. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 181bhp and 430Nm of top torque. This engine is claimed to 20 per cent more fuel efficient that the 2.5-litre unit. This engine is also tuned to offer less power value of 128PS and 194Nm of torque. The transmission options include six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic gearbox.
