While Hyundai India is planning to bring in the facelifted Elantra, the Korean automaker has started testing the next generation model. The next generation Elantra will be launched in the Korean market in 2015, while the India launch is expected in 2016. The vehicle has been spotted recently undergoing testing.

The spotted vehicle was fully covered, revealing very little details. Its overall shape largely remains unchanged. The vehicle features a sloping roofline, which gives it a coupe like profile. Just like the latest crop of Hyundai, the next Elantra is also likely to get the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. It is expected to get sleeker and aggressive front fascia with headlamps positioned slightly lower than the outgoing model.

It features a thick C pillar, curved window lines, new rear lights with LED treatment and sloping roofline. The exact details about the changes given to the mechanics of the car, but we expect that the next Elantra would see an updated chassis and suspension setup. Before launching the next model, Hyundai India will launch the facelifted Elantra in early next year.

The Hyundai Elantra is currently available in both petrol and diesel guise- a 1.8-litre petrol and a 1.6-litre diesel. Both engines are clubbed with either a six-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
