We reported earlier that Toyota will launch the all-new, next generation 2016 Toyota Innova in the Asian market next year. The new model is expected to make its Indian debut at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo, alongside the new generation Toyota Fortuner. Ahead of its official launch, the early prototype of the MPV has been spotted testing in Bangalore.
The next generation Toyota Innova is based on a ladder on frame platform instead of the monocoque architecture. Moreover, the vehicle will get a thoroughly modified exterior and interior. The spotted vehicle largely resembles the current model, but the company has made several changes to the exteriors of the car to keep things fresh in the market. It is expected to gets a thoroughly re-designed front fascia with bolder radiator grille, new design for the headlamps and bumper. At the back, the Innova facelift would get new tailgate and a new set of tail lamps.
Inside the cabin, the 2016 Innova is likely to be more spacious than the current model. It would also sport lot more gizmos to play with. It is expected that the new Innova will get an all-new diesel engine, which offers better NVH and fuel efficiency. If reports are to be believed, the company would also launch the automatic diesel variant of the MPV.
