Bajaj Auto, the homegrown automaker is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited Pulsar 200 SS in the country. Interestingly, the company is also aiming at the launch of 200 AS (Adventure Sport). Both models have recently been spotted at an event in Indonesia.
The new Pulsar 200 AS bike features the AS badge, where AS stand for Adventure Sport. This bike targets adventure sport enthusiasts looking for affordable bike. The 200 AS could be the move to offer multiple options to buyers. It will join the existing Pulsar 200 NS and soon to be launched Pulsar 200 SS. It is expected to replace the Bajaj Pulsar 220 F. Unlike the 200 SS, the new bike features half-fairing; however, the internals including engine remains the same. This motorcycle is expected to be priced between the Pulsar 200 NS and the 200 SS.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200 AS and Pulsar 200 SS is propelled by the same 199.5cc, single cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 23.15bhp and a peak torque of 18.3Nm. Power is transferred to road via a six-speed gearbox. The suspension system comprises of telescopic forks at the front and monoshock at the rear.
Bajaj Auto is also expected to launch the Pulsar 200 SS in both ABS as well as non-ABS versions. The spotted vehicle features the ABS; however, previous shots of the bike lack ABS. It is expected that the Pulsar 200 SS would sport single-channel ABS system developed by Bosch.
