New Fiat Punto Evo facelift launched; priced at Rs. 4.55 lakh

Italian car manufacturer Fiat has launched the 2014 Fiat Punto Evo facelift in the Indian car market. The updated hatchback has already reached the dealerships for customer previews and the deliveries for the hatchback have commenced from today. The Fiat Punto Evo is available in four trim levels- Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport. It has been priced at Rs. 4.55 lakh for entry level petrol and Rs. 5.27 lakh for diesel version.

The company has thoroughly modified the hatchback and is loaded with several features to compete well in the growing premium hatchback segment. It is available in both petrol and diesel fuel options. The diesel version gets the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet engine that develops two states of tunes- 75bhp and 89bhp. The petrol version features the 1.2-litre engine that produces 67bhp. A more powerful 1.4-litre T-Jet turbo petrol mill is also on offer that develops 90bhp of power.

Like we said before, the updated Punto Evo is offered in four trims- Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Sport out of which, the Sport variant is only available in diesel version. It is basically a performance variant which is powered by a tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet engine producing 90bhp. The rest three trims get the standard 1.3L multi-jet engine that produces 75bhp of power. On the other hand, the Punto Evo petrol gets two engine options- a 67bhp, 1.2-litre and 90bhp, 1.4-litre engine. The smaller engine is offered with Active and Dynamic trims while the 90bhp engine is only available with Emotion trim.

The base Punto Evo Active trim comes equipped with decent features such as ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, automatic door locking, central locking, body coloured bumpers, air conditioning, tilt adjustable steering column, follow-me home headlamps. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 14-inch alloy wheels. Along with the features that are accessible in the base Active trim, the Punto Evo Dynamic trim gets added safety features including ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with Electronic BrakeForce Distribution (only for the diesel), height adjustable driver’s seat, electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear power windows. For entertainment, it has an integrated audio system with radio, CD and MP3 Player, USB and AUX-in compatibility, and speed sensitive volume control.

The top-spec Punto Evo Emotion trim has advanced features such as dual airbags, door handles with chrome garnish, fog lamps, rear AC vents, automatic climate control, leather covers on steering and gear shift knob, etc. Adding to it, the vehicle gets steering mounted audio controls and Bluetooth. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 15-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The Punto Evo Sport gets all the features that are available in lower spec models. Moreover, it also features all black dashboard, rear spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels.
