New 2014 Honda Jazz India launch could be postponed

New generation Honda Jazz

Honda Cars India is enjoying success in the country, thanks to its newly launched products including new City and Mobilio. The company is now aiming to launch the next generation 2014 Jazz hatchback in the Indian car market. Honda earlier announced that the launch of the next Jazz will take place in March, 2015. However, the company is now reportedly planning to slightly delay the launch.

According to the company, the demand for its current models has exceeded Honda’s expectations and is now thinking of slightly adjusting the launch of new Jazz hatch. Speaking to PTI, Mr. Hironori Kanayama, President and CEO, Honda Cars India, said that the company is yet to decide the exact time of the launch of new Jazz.

Recently, Honda Cars India has started a second shift at its manufacturing unit in Tapukara, Rajasthan. This is the move to further increase the production of the new City sedan, which has a waiting period of around 3-4 months. The City’s production was shifted to Tapukara from Greater Noida to fulfill the demand for both Mobilio MPV and new City sedan.

The new generation Jazz will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol version gets the 1.2L unit, the oil burner is the fuel efficient 1.5L i-DTEC motor. With high level of local components, Honda is aiming to price the new Jazz competitively in the market.
