Mitsubishi Motors is all set to launch the automatic variant of the Pajero Sport in the Indian car market. If media reports are to be believed, the Pajero automatic will go on sale in India on November 15, 2014.
The Pajero Sport SUV is powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 178PS and 400Nm of top torque. The new Pajero AT is likely to be equipped with the same engine offered in the older model. The only change is expected to be a five-speed automatic gearbox.
Interiors of the Pajero AT are expected to remain unchanged. The company earlier launched a limited edition Mitsubishi Pajero Sport with a dual tone paint-finish to improve its sales in the festive season. It was offered in two exterior shades- Flame Red with White and Lemon Yellow with White. It is priced at Rs. 23.99 lakh, which around Rs. 40,000 more than the standard model.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport AT is likely to cost slightly lower than the 4×4 manual version. It is likely to be priced around Rs. 22 lakh, which is about Rs. 1.5 lakh cheaper. It will rival against the likes of Toyota Fortuner AT, Ford Endeavour AT and Ssangyong Rexton RX7 AT.
