Mitsubishi Motors has teased the much-awaited Pajero Sport automatic ahead of its official launch on November 15, 2014. The company has also started taking pre-orders for the SUV, and dealers are offering test drives for the SUV to prospective buyers.
The Pajero Sport SUV is propelled by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 178PS and 400Nm of top torque. The automatic variant will also get the sale engine and is likely to feature a five-speed automatic gearbox.
Inside the cabin, the Pajero AT is likely to remain unaltered. The company recently launched a limited edition of the Pajero Sport, which is offered with a dual-tone exterior paint-finish. This could be the move to improve its sales in the festive season. Available in two exterior shades- Flame Red with White and Lemon Yellow with White, the limited edition model is priced at Rs. 23.99 lakh which is about 40K more than the standard model.
The Pajero automatic is expected to be cheaper than the standard 4×4 manual version. We expect it to be priced around Rs. 22 lakh, making it around Rs. 1.5 lakh cheaper than the manual variant. The Pajero Sport AT will rival against the likes of Toyota Fortuner AT and SsangYong Rexton RX7 AT.
