MG Marvel X Spotted First Time in India, Debut at Auto Expo

Buoyed by excellent response for the Hector, MG Motors is now ready to launch 4 all-new SUVs in the market in the next 1 year. The company will launch the ZS Pure electric SUV tomorrow, which will be followed by a 6-seater Hector and an all-new Maxus D90 based SUV in mid-2020. MG Motors is reportedly to unveil 14 cars at the biennial event, the Marvel X electric SUV will be one of them. The MG Marvel X has been spotted for the first time in India.

The MG Roewe Marvel X pure electric SUV has been manufactured by SAIC Group under the Roewe brand. The SUV comes with two electric motors, which are fitted over the front and the rear axles. It is available in 2 versions – AWD and 2WD. While the AWD (all-wheel-drive) model offers a top power of 297bhp and 665Nm of torque, the 2WD model produces 183bhp and 410Nm of torque.

The MG Marvel X offers a range of 500km, and comes with fast charging option. The electric SUV gets charged up to 80 per cent in 40 minutes using the fast charger. The SUV accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 4.8 seconds before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 180kmph. The SUV has iBooster Intelligent Electric Control System that enhances the emergency braking response.

SAIC Motor Corporation claims that the MG Marvel X has 5-star safety standard design. It features six high-voltage circuit safety management strategies and IP67 battery with anti-intrusion protection level. In terms of safety and security, the Marvel X gets intelligent parking assistance, A1 cruise full-speed intelligent cruise, automatic emergency brake, forward collision alarm, real-life driving assistance system, etc. The SUV features an exclusive luxury key with ‘Welcome Mode’ and remote control that opens streamer wings all LED lights, hidden door handles and ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirror). Other premium features include German Bader punched Nappa leather seat upholstery.

The upcoming MG ZS Pure electric SUV has also received excellent response from buyers with bookings crosses 2300 units in less than 1 month. In fact, MG has to stop taking further bookings for the ZS SUV. The company is also readying an all-new compact SUV, which will challenge the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Nissan Kicks.
