Maruti Suzuki India has silently launched the facelifted Swift hatchback. The car is now available in Delhi, and the demo cars have already dispatched to dealers. Bookings for the Swift facelift have already opened at a token amount of Rs. 10,000, and dealers across the country have been offering the test drives for the car. Deliveries for the vehicle are expected to begin in the first week of November.
The company has re-tuned the engines to offer better fuel efficiency. The 1.2-litre petrol engine develops 83.1bhp, which is around 2.7bhp less compared to 85.8bhp offered in previous model. There is an increase of 9.7 per cent in fuel efficiency, and it is now claimed to return 20.4kmpl instead of 18.6kmpl. The oil burner is the same 1.3-litre Multi-Jet motor, which comes with a tweaked ECU. This result in an increase in fuel efficiency by 10 per cent, and it returns 25.2kmpl of mileage instead of 22.9kmpl.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is priced at Rs. 4.41 lakh for base variant and Rs. 6.94 lakh for top-spec model. The company has raised the prices of VXi, ZXi, VDi and ZDi variants by 16k, 23k, 20k and 23k, respectively. When it comes to feature addition, the entry-spec L trim gets rear adjustable headrests, 60:40 rear seat split, keyless entry and power windows for front row. Its mid-level V trim features new music system, electrically adjustable and retractable outside rear view mirrors, and ABS for diesel model. The top-spec model gets i-Key with push start button, multi-functional steering wheel with controls for audio and Bluetooth telephony, reverse parking assist, and new 15-inch alloys.
