Maruti Suzuki India is all set to launch the highly anticipated Ciaz mid-sized sedan in the country in October. We were the first one to reveal that the official deliveries of the car will commence from September 3rd while few dealers have already started taking pre-orders. Set to replace the aging SX4 sedan, the Ciaz is comparatively larger in size and offers better legroom and headroom space. First unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show as concept, the Ciaz compact sedan is equipped with several advanced features. It will compete against the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and others in the highly populated mid-sized sedan segment.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is also claimed to be the country’s most fuel efficient car. Under the bonnet is the same 89bhp, 1.3-litre Fiat-sourced multi-jet motor that returns an impressive mileage of 26.21kmpl. The gasoline model gets the 1.4-litre K Series motor that is claimed to offer an excellent fuel economy of 20.73kmpl. Its closest competitor Honda City returns 25.8kmpl and 18kmpl in diesel and petrol fuel options, respectively. The Ciaz, interestingly, offers an impressive luggage space of 510-litres which is more than sufficient to carry four suitcases.
On safety front, the Maruti Ciaz gets the ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake-Force Distribution), driver and passenger side airbag, engine immobilizer, reverse parking sensors and many more.
