Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), the country’s numero-uno automajor, has rolled out a limited edition of its small car Alto 800. It also commemorates the occasion of 25 Lakhs Alto on road. The limited edition Alto 800 offers benefits of over Rs. 66,666 with several added features and accessories. This limited edition offer stay till August 31, only.
The limited edition of the Alto 800 hatchback comes equipped with body decals and a roof mounted rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, it features art leather seatt covers, a Mulity music system along with a speaker, and remote central locking with keyless entry. Unarguably, the Alto 800 remains India’s most sold out car but facts also state that its elder sibling Swift Dzire has exceeded its sales at some occasions, most recently in May. But, the hatchback didn’t take much time to bounce back and re-claim its top position as in the very next month, June, it was the top selling car of India.
If reports are to be believed, Maruti is also planning to give this hatchback a makeover and launch the facelifted version by Q2 2015. However, there are supposed to be no mechanical changes with the refurbished hatchback as it would continue to carry the same 800cc, three-cylinder petrol mill that develops 47.3 bhp of top power and 69Nm of peak torque. This engine is also on offer with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In both the petrol as well as CNG variants, the engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti Alto 800 competes with the likes of Hyundai Eon, Chevrolet Spark and the recently launched Datsun GO.
