Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced two new features on the top-end W10 automatic variant of the XUV500. Features that have been added to its equipment list are passive keyless entry and push-button start & stop system. The Mahindra XUV 500 W10 automatic now gets a smart key instead of the common flip-out type key. While the top-of-the-line W10 manual version is already comes fitted with these two features, the automatic variant which was launched last year was devoid of them till now. One must note that Mahindra isn’t offering these two equipment on the XUV500 W8 automatic variant.
In May 2016, the home-grown carmaker launched the Mahindra XUV500 W6 automatic variant at Rs. 14.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The XUV500 W6 AT was the fourth automatic version in the model lineup; and being the base variant it was Rs. 1.58 lakh cheaper than the W8 AT variant. The Mahindra XUV500 automatic directly takes on the Hyundai Creta Automatic and Renault Duster Automatic. Just so you know, Mahindra introduced the automatic transmission on three variants of the XUV500 SUV – W8 FWD, W10 FWD and W10 FWD – in November 2015.
