Yamaha Motor India, the Indian branch of the Japanese two-wheeler maker has launched the rebranded version of previous generation Yamaha R15 in the country. Named the Yamaha R15 S, the fully faired bike is priced at Rs. 1.14 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It is basically a mildly updated version of the current fully faired 150cc R15 Version 2.0.

Unlike the current generation model, the Yamaha R15 S gets a single-piece seat. The R15 version 2.0 is equipped with a stepped two-piece unit that offers sporty look and put it in-line with the bigger YZF-series motorcycles. Strong customer feedback is the main reason behind the re-introduction of the older model.

The Yamaha R15 S is powered by a 149.8cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine that is capable of producing 17bhp of power at 8,500 and 15Nm of torque at 7,500rpm. It is coupled to a six-speed transmission.
