Triumph Motorcycles today launched the mid-size, adventure motorcycle, the Tiger 800 XR in the Indian two wheeler market. Priced at Rs. 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Triumph Tiger XR is the entry-level variant in the company’s 800cc Tiger motorcycle range that includes Tiger XCx and XRx.

This on-road based adventure tourer is equipped with a new, technologically advanced ride-by-wire throttle control system. This feature removes the usage of other mechanical components that works the same function. For smooth ride, the Triumph Tiger 800 XR gets traction control which is also available in other Tiger range. Moreover, rider also has an option to adjust the seat height that further enhances the overall comfort level.

Powering the Triumph Tiger 800 XR is an 800cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, three-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of producing 94bhp of power at 9,250rpm and 79Nm of torque at 7,850rpm. The motor is paired to a six-speed gearbox that sends the power to the rear wheels via chain-driven final drive.

The Triumph Tiger 800 XR is equipped with various class leading features such as traction control, a trip computer, andoised black showa USD forks at the front with 43mm of travel and an adjustable Showa monoshock at the rear, Switchable ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), etc. For braking, the bike gets twin 308mm disc brakes up front and a single 255mm disc at rear.

The 800cc bike features lightweight cast aluminium wheels, 17-inch and 19-inch diameter wheels at the rear and the front, measuring 4.25-inches and 2.5-inches in width respectively. The bike also gets a quick-adjust headlamps angle level for 2-up riding, an aluminium sump guard and an auxiliary power socket near the ignition switch as standard fitment.
