August 30, 2016: The American iconic SUV maker has finally introduced the Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs in the Indian market. The Wrangler is exclusively available in the 4-door ‘Unlimited’ variant priced at Rs 71.59 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi. Powering the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is a 2.8-litre CRD turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 197.2bhp (200PS) of power and 460Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 5-speed automatic gearbox and command Trac 4WD system as standard. This off-roader is claimed to return 12.1kmpl of mileage.
As a reminder, both the SUVs made their public appearance at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in early February. Initially, the carmaker will import the SUV to India via CBU (completely built up) route. This premium off-roader not only carries brand’s legendary traction, articulation and water fording capabilities, but offers outstanding off-road performance as well. Jeep India is planning to set up its 10 outlets in 9 cities by the end of this year.
