Renault India is all set to enter into the growing compact MPV segment and is gearing up for the launch of much-awaited Lodgy MPV. Ahead of its official launch, the company has released the official image of the MPV. This could be the move to create some buzz about the vehicle among people. It is expected to be launched in March, 2015 and will rival against the likes of Honda Mobilio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Nissan Terrano.
With a large 2810mm of wheelbase, the Renault Lodgy MPV is ready to excite buyers by offering spacious cabin. Upfront is the new chrome bar grille that accommodates large Renault badge, flanked by sweptback headlamps, and new bumper. At the back, the India-spec model has updated tail lights and bumper. The interior components including instrument cluster, infotainment system, steering wheel, air conditioning vents, etc are directly borrowed with the Duster SUV.
Under the hood is the same 1.5-litre dCi engine that offers two states of tunes- 85PS and 110PS. The former is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox, while the 110PS motor is clubbed with a six-speed gearbox. It is expected that the vehicle would get the 85PS, 1.5L dCi unit.
The Renault Lody MPV is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. We expect that the USP of this MPV would be its spacious cabin, which offers loads of space for all three rows.
