Hero HX250R motorcycle price to undercut KTM Duke 200

We reported earlier that Hero MotoCorp will launch the new HX250R 250cc motorcycle by the mid-2015. Unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show, the HX250R will mark the company’s entry into the growing 250cc entry level sports bike segment. If reports are to be believed, the Hero HX250R will be priced very competitively in the market. It is expected to undercut the prices of bikes which are lesser in performance and positioned under HX250R including KTM Duke 200.

The Hero HX250R is manufactured by Hero with the help of EBR. It is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, 4-valve engine that uses liquid-cooling and fuel-injection. This engine is capable of producing 31bhp of power at 9000rpm and a peak torque of 26Nm. It is clubbed with a six-speed transmission to put power on roads. The exhaust pipe is situated under the seat.

The Hero HX250R measures 2085mm in length, 735mm in width and 1145mm in height. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels. The wheelbase stands at 1370mm, while the ground clearance is 145mm. The braking system comprises of three piston caliper with 300mm disc and 200 disc brakes at front and rear, respectively. Adding to it, the bike also features combined braking system with optional ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
