The fully faired Suzuki Gixxer SLK motorcycle production has been commenced. The clear picture of the production ready model has been surfaced on the web. Going by the picture, it is visible that the bike does not get clip-on handlebars. The motorcycle features large Suzuki graphics in its body to add some sporty touch.
We reported earlier that Suzuki Motorcycles is working on the fully faired version of the Gixxer. The bike is, reportedly, named as Gixxer SLK and has been spotted testing without a little camouflage. Below are the images of the motorcycle, indicating a near launch.
According to GaadiWaadi, the fully-faired Gixxer will be launched with a new name- the Gixxer SLK. This bike will compete against the likes of Yamaha Fazer and Honda CBR150R. It is expected that the Suzuki Gixxer GLK will be powered by the same 154.9cc single-cylinder engine that also powers the naked Gixxer.
With bike fairing, the motorcycle will weight more than the naked bike. We expect that engineers will tweak the engine to maintain the fuel efficiency and performance. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 14.8PS at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm at 6,000rpm. Power is transferred to roads via a five-speed transmission.
Suzuki Motorcycle India had launched the naked Gixxer in September last year. The bike has received a positive response from the buyers. In order to further improve its sales in the growing 2-wheeler market, the Japanese maker is planning to launch a series of new bikes in the country.
