We reported earlier that Fiat India will launch the Avventura crossover hatchback in the country by early October. The bookings for the crossover have already been commenced across all the dealerships in India. We contacted dealers to find out the booking amount for the crossover. Jaipur dealers have quoted Rs. 50,000 while few dealers from different cities are taking pre-orders at a token amount of Rs. 20,000.
The Fiat Avventura crossover hatchback would be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol version of the car would get 1.4-litre motor that produces 89bhp of top power and 115Nm of top torque, the oil burner is the tried & trusted 1.3-litre multi-jet motor producing 92bhp and 209Nm of peak torque. The crossover comes with a large ground clearance of 205mm which is 20mm more than the Punto Evo. To offer more rugged road presence, the company has added externally-mounted spare wheel, roof rails, body cladding, diamond-cut alloy wheels and nudge guards.
At the front, the Fiat Avventura CUV (Contemporary Utility Vehicle) resembles the Punto Evo hatchback. It gets projector headlamps, skid guard and fog lamps. The crossover will be manufactured at the company’s Ranjangaon manufacturing unit. It will compete against the likes of Toyota Etios Cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo. The vehicle is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5-8 lakh.
