Bajaj Auto is planning to launch a series of new bikes in the Indian two-wheeler market this year. The company will launch six new bikes within six months out of which, the new Platina 100 ES and new CT100 already been launched in our market. Adding to it, the maker will also launch the Pulsar 200SS, 400SS, 200AS and Pulsar 150NS in the country in next few months.
Not just India, the upcoming affordable Bajaj Pulsar 200SS sports bike will make its way to select international markets as well. The company has showcased the upcoming Pulsar 200SS along with 200 NS, 150NS and Boxer 150 at the 2015 Trade Fair in Turkey. The Pulsar 200SS will go on sale in the Indian market in March, 2015.
Based on the Pulsar 200NS, the Pulsar 200SS styling inspired from the Pulsar 400SS showcased at the 2014 Delhi Motor Show. It is powered by the same 199.5cc single-cylinder engine that also powers the naked 200NS. This engine is capable of producing 23.5PS, which is transferred to roads via a six-speed transmission. With bike fairing, the Pulsar 200SS gains weight and the engine is likely to be tweaked to maintain performance and fuel efficiency.
The Bajaj Pulsar 200SS will be made available in two variants- with and without ABS. The affordable sport bike is likely to be priced in the range of around Rs. 1.2 lakh to Rs. 1.4 lakh. The ABS is expected to get a single-channelled Bosch-made unit.
